Drupal Web Developer

KD Web, is a leading and well respected web development agency based in London. We are looking for a talented programmer and a professional individual to join our growing team of 20 staff. We work in an extremely busy environment and the development team work closely together to finish projects to a high standard. We need a PHP Developer who will fit with this work ethic and is willing to learn from other members as well as share your own knowledge with the team. Teamwork and friendship is the key to working at KD Web.

You will need excellent knowledge of LAMP Web Development technologies with object oriented programming experience and skills such as:

  • Drupal (Expert)
  • PHP and MYSQL (Expert)
  • HTML, CSS (Very Good)
  • Jquery (Very Good)
  • AJAX (Very Good)
  • Linux/Apache (Very Good)
  • Accessibility (Very Good)
  • Multi browser issues and fixes (Very Good)

We expect at least 3 years+ experience working on web projects (with at least 2 years of Drupal experience) as part of a team of programmers. If you only have freelance experience, this will not be sufficient. We need someone who can take ownership of their own projects and liaise with clients if necessary which means excellent spoken and written English is necessary and great communication skills. You will also need to do some client training on Drupal.

The position is based in our London, Hendon, NW4 web design studio. The position consists of developing and maintaining all types of websites, many with DrupalCMS systems and some with bespoke PHP based applications. Salary is negotiable based upon experience, skills, education and work attitude.

Salary: £20k-£30k depending on qualifications and level of experience.

Web Project Manager

Location: Finchley Office, North London

Job Role: We are looking for a project manager from a programming background. You will be responsible for liaising with the sales team to create detailed project specifications and briefs. Once confirmed with the client, you will be responsible for the entire lifecycle of the project, including but not limited to:

  • Creating wireframes and planning the projects
  • Setting deadlines and key deliverables
  • Briefing the designers and programmers (some in-house and some offshore)
  • Keeping track of progress and ensuring deadlines are met
  • Frequent contact with the client to keep them up to date and show progress where necessary
  • Maintaining quality control (testing, design etc)
  • Programming when need be
  • Training junior developers

On average, you will be managing 5-10 projects in various stages at any given time. In addition to managing projects you will also be required to make sure that KD Web maintains its competitive edge by researching and testing upcoming technologies and implementing them where they will be beneficial and cost effective to the business. The role is fast paced and requires the ability to adapt to different situations quickly.

Qualifications & Experience

The ideal candidate will be ambitious, resourceful, outgoing and a team leader.

  • Have at least 3 years experience in an agency environment managing web based projects as either a project manager or a team leader.
  • Have experience of leading a team and managing people and resources
  • Have a technical background with knowledge of programming, the lifecycle of a web project, databases, testing etc.
  • Excellent knowledge of CSS, HTML, PHP, MYSQL, JavaScript, Ajax, various CMS & Ecommerce systems with knowledge of SEO is essential
  • Be trained to Prince 2 standards or similar
  • Be able to demonstrate the ability to make sound decisions and meet deadlines with a strong track record of success
  • Have a keen eye for design
  • Have experience with dealing with clients on the phone and face to face
  • Have excellent organisational and planning skills to ensure project specifications are detailed and precise. This includes being able to write clear and concise specifications and make sure they are adhered to throughout the project cycle
  • Be ambitious and innovative to further the goals of the company
  • Be able to use Microsoft Project or similar to an excellent level
  • Have a sense of humour so everyone can get along with you :)

Salary: £20k-£35k depending on qualifications and level of experience.

Business Development Executive / Account Manager

Location: Finchley Office, North London

Description: This role is an excellent opportunity for someone with a sales background in IT or New Media who wishes to succeed in a small but dynamic, growing company. You will be working with a small team of talented and experienced designers and developers in a warm and friendly environment, working under the wing of our New Business Director. This role would ideally suit a smart, literate, well presented and educated graduate with sales experience, preferably with experience in a new media company. If you have a portfolio of past clients that you can tap into or have suitable experience pitching to the Public Sector and Brand Name clients, you will be preferred for this position over others.

Job Role: Selling our company to companies that may require web design, web development, graphic design and other projects. You will be responsible for backing up our marketing campaigns and dealing with sales enquiries that are generated by us. You will be responsible for the development of the sale from start to finish so the ability to develop relationships and account manage is essential. If you can bring in and know how to close the prospects, our high quality work will sell itself - we truly believe we offer high quality work - better than the majority of our competitors.

Salary: Basic with excellent commission - OTE £45K+ (uncapped)

Junior Web Designer

Job Length: 1 - 2 years
Location: Finchley Office, North London

Qualifications/Experience/Description:

An excellent knowledge of HTML, CSS, PHP, MYSQL, and control management systems is essential as well as good knowledge of Dreamweaver, Fireworks, Photoshop and Microsoft Word. The position is based in our Hendon - NW4 design studio, and NOT in our Central London office. The position consists of slicing, programming and installing CMS systems on the Photoshop designs supplied by our Creative Director, as well as maintaining and updating current sites.

Hours: 9:00 AM - 6:00 PM, 5 days a week
Salary: Salary for this position is low to start with. However, it is a mixture of working and learning in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere and is a great way to break into the field, whilst gaining small business, commercial experience at the same time.

This position is suitable for a school/college leaver.

Hours: 9:30 AM - 5:30 PM, 3 to 5 days a week (negotiable)
